Tub Talk #006 – The Best Songs of 1980-1999: The Snubs and Flubs
You’ve heard us count down the best songs of the 1980s and 1990s, so now it’s time for us to apologize for what we got wrong… and what we forgot about altogether. In this episode, we finally get to the bottom of what Metallica album the song “Battery” is on (or do we?), try to figure out what the difference between a snub and a flub actually is, and witness the rise of El Tub Talk. Matt talks about how it’s possible that he left his favorite song of all-time off his list, Mantz talks about what should happen to Robert Kraft, and Bob talks bout how the 90s were a weird time for music. Also, we discuss how maybe the greatest band of this era was almost fully snubbed, while certain songs were left off Matt’s list because he didn’t want to play them in front his kids. Also, things get serious as we discuss the application of filters and the lenses through which we view nostalgia, as it relates to music.
