#HANX for the Memories #001 – He Knows You’re Alone (1980)
He Knows You’re Alone kicks off #HANX for the Memories with a simultaneous bang and a thud. It’s rare that we get to cover a horror movie on any of our podcasts — let alone a slasher! — so it’s a shame that this movie falls flat in so many places. That doesn’t matter too much, though, as Tom Hanks emerges with a pretty sizeable ‘fro and a head full of Freud as he psychoanalyzes his girlfriend’s (?) friend, who’s actively being chased by a killer, while also demanding candy from the victim’s little sister. It’s not the Hanks we know, but it’s a Hanks we love! This movie has more questions than answers, so sit back, buckle up, and enjoy the ride because we are beginning our journey into the Tom Hanks portion of the TomTom club!
