Watch The Theron #027 – In the Valley of Elah (2007)
You may not know how to pronounce In the Valley of Elah — or even know what it’s about — but it’s definitely a movie you should see. In the Valley of Elah marks one of Charlize Theron’s all-time best performances (so far, at least) and doubles as one of her best films yet. With a ferocious side as ruthless as Imperator Furiosa and a maternal side as kind as some movie we haven’t gotten to yet (probably), Charlize’s character is complex and well-written. Pair her on screen with Tommy Lee Jones investigating his missing son, and you’ve got a dynamic duo you don’t want to cross. To cover all of this, we’re joined by special guest Tobin Addington to tackle yet another Charlize movie that could fall into the purview of The Contenders, who continues his streak of great Charlize movies about difficult topics.
