#CruiseClub #021 – Magnolia (1999)
We continue to mount the world from the lofty heights offered by #CruiseClub as we talk about Magnolia, our second movie in a row made by one of the greatest filmmakers of all-time. Joining us to talk about Paul Thomas Anderson’s sweeping epic are Tobin Addington of The Contenders, as well as our religion expert, John Brooks. In this episode, we talk about Cruise’s revelatory performance, our favorite (and least favorite) storylines, and the frogs… oh, the frogs! Between two longtime fans of the film, one who saw it once and really enjoyed it, and a first-time viewer of the movie (and it isn’t who you might think!), we’re bringing a wide range of knowledge, insight, and perspective to this one, with one common theme: we’re all in awe of just about everything that’s happening here.
