#HANX for the Memories #011 – Nothing in Common (1986)
The early stages of #HANX for the Memories haven’t been smooth sailing, but it felt like The Money Pit may have helped us turn a corner. Little did we know that the corner we turned would be right into a messy, confused brick wall of dramedy. What do you get when you mix a lighthearted workplace romp with three depressive existential breakdowns? Nothing in Common! In this episode, we discuss Tom Hanks’s dramatic acting chops, more of his useless (but fun!) on-screen skills, and his most sex-crazed character yet. We also wonder if this is a spiritual sequel to Bosom Buddies and talk about how Joey’s hair blindness returns in a wild new way.
