#HANX for the Memories #016 – The ‘Burbs (1989)
It’s been a rocky road so far for #HANX for the Memories, but we’re starting to turn a corner… and find ourselves deep in The ‘Burbs! We may not be out of the weeds just yet, but we’re certainly getting close. Joining us on our journey to this terrifying cul-de-sac are Nick Jenkins of Reel Bad and Lindsay Gibb of Winona Forever. In this episode, we talk about the movie’s finest comedic sequences, discuss whether or not the movie holds up under the scrutiny of life in 2019, and wonder if Bruce Dern was ever *not* an old man. We also try to imagine Tom Cruise as the lead in this movie, try to make sense of the film’s many alternate endings, and marvel at just how truly incredible Carrie Fisher is in this, and in everything.
